Protection Against Yellowing

When it comes to resin projects, clarity and longevity are essential. That's why we have prioritized anti-yellowing properties in our epoxy resin formulation. Craft Resin utilizes pure ingredients, employing the highest graded raw materials to ensure crystal clear results from bottle to finish.

To further enhance our formulations, we have incorporated a blend of light stabilizing additives. These additives inhibit discoloration, misty effects, cracking, and loss of the glossy look that can occur in epoxy resins over time. Additionally, we have included a Hindered Amine Light Stabilizer (HALS) to provide superior UV protection and prevent yellowing. HALS not only stops yellowing from happening in the first place but also offers enhanced UV resistance.

With Craft Resin, you receive triple protection against yellowing. However, it is important to note that the use of silicone oil in epoxy resin projects can compromise the non-yellowing properties of the formulation. Silicone oil may reflect its yellow coloring, resulting in yellowing over time.

A low-odour, solvent-free formulation

Safety is a top concern for us at Craft Resin. While epoxy resins have received negative attention regarding their impact on health, not all resins are created equal. Some formulations contain harmful chemicals and emit Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), which can be detrimental to your respiratory system and overall well-being.

Craft Resin is designed for use at home or in a workshop, with a low-odour, solvent-free formulation. Like all epoxy systems it does contain volatile organic compounds in its uncured state — independently measured at 40 g/kg, within the regulatory limit for this category — so work in a ventilated space and wear gloves and eye protection. Uncured resin and hardener are classified as hazardous to health; fully cured resin is inert.

Craft Resin does not contain added solvents. However, artists often add solvents to their work. While you can use alcohol inks to color your epoxy resin creations, be cautious about adding large amounts of colorants, as this can disrupt the cure and increase flammability.
