Odour and Safety — Ventilation, PPE, and Working Safely

Craft Resin is formulated without solvents or VOCs and has no noticeable odour when used as directed. That
doesn't mean no precautions are needed — like most craft chemicals, it's still an eye and skin irritant while
liquid, and a few simple habits make it comfortable and safe to work with.

What the Safety Data Sheet says

• Odour: Odourless.
• VOCs: None. No fumes are released during normal use.
• Skin contact: Can cause skin irritation and, in some individuals, an allergic skin reaction — this is common to epoxy systems generally, not unique to Craft Resin.
• Inhalation/ingestion: Classified as harmful if inhaled or swallowed in the SDS hazard statements — this refers to the liquid, uncured state; standard handling precautions (below) address this.
• Respiratory protection: Not required for normal home or studio use with adequate ventilation.

classification, first-aid measure, and handling instruction in detail — we recommend keeping a copy on hand
if you work with resin regularly.

Recommended working setup

• Gloves: Wear protective gloves rated for chemical resistance while measuring, mixing, and pouring.
• Work surface protection: Cover your workspace — resin is very difficult to remove once cured (see our "how to remove resin" guidance if you get an unwanted spill).
• Ventilation: Work in a well-ventilated room. Even though Craft Resin has no VOCs or noticeable odour, good airflow is good general practice for any craft chemical.
• Skin contact: If resin gets on your skin, wash off promptly with soap and water rather than solvents.
• Eye protection: Avoid touching your eyes while working, and be aware that other products used alongside resin — such as chemical sunscreens — can occasionally cause irritation if they come into contact with your eyes during a project.

If you experience a reaction

Reactions can occur even if you've used the product before without issue — environmental factors like heat,
humidity, and reduced ventilation can all play a role.

If you believe you've had a reaction to a Craft Resin product:

1. Stop using the product immediately and move it away from your workspace.
2. Seek medical attention if the reaction doesn't resolve quickly, or contact your doctor to help identify the cause.
3. Contact our support team — we'll ask you to return the affected product so we can inspect it, and we'll process a full refund.
