Heat Resistance — What Temperature Can Cured Resin Handle?

Once fully cured, Craft Resin is heat resistant enough for everyday use, but each product line has a different
ceiling. Use this guide to check whether your finished piece is safe for its intended use — hot drinks, sunny
windowsills, or a spot near the stove.

These figures describe resin that has gone through its full cure — not the initial "hard cure" stage where
the surface feels dry but the resin hasn't finished its complete chemical cure. Full cure time varies by
product (see our Mixing Ratio and product-specific guides); using a piece for hot items before it has fully
cured can cause softening, warping, or a hazy finish even though the surface felt hard days earlier.

Practical guidance

• Coasters and trivets: fine for warm mugs and plates within the limits above, once fully cured. Avoid resting anything straight off the stove or a very hot pan directly on cured resin.
• Sunny windowsills or car interiors: surface temperatures in direct summer sun can exceed 60–70°C, which is within range for Arts & Crafts and Deep Pour but can be enough to soften UV resin pieces over time — keep UV resin items out of prolonged direct sun and heat.
• Serving trays: safe for typical room-temperature and lightly warm food service once fully cured (see our Food Safe Once Cured article for the food-contact specifics).
